  • Account information: When you create an account with Project Clean Grid, we collect your email address and name through our authentication provider, Clerk. This information is used to identify you and provide access to your personalized dashboard.

  • Location data (self-selected): You provide location information when you add places to your profile in the app. This includes any city names and addresses you enter; geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude); and ZIP codes. This data is used solely to determine which power grid region to display in your personalized dashboard.

  • Preferences: We store your app preferences to personalize your experience.

  • Feedback: When you voluntarily submit feedback through the app or website, we collect information on the type of feedback and the content you submit. This helps us improve the user experience.

How we use your information:

  • To provide and maintain the Project Clean Grid service

  • To determine your power grid region based on the location you select

  • To personalize your display preferences and settings

  • To improve the app based on feedback and usage patterns

  • To communicate with you about your account or app updates

Data retention:

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information from our systems within 30 days, except where we are required to retain data for legal or regulatory purposes.

Your rights:

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

  • Correction: You can update or correct your personal information through your account settings.

  • Deletion: You can request deletion of your account and associated data.

Children’s privacy:

Project Clean Grid is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete that information from our systems.

International data transfers:

Your data may be processed and stored in the United States, where our service providers are based. By using Project Clean Grid, you consent to the transfer of your information to the U.S. and acknowledge that U.S. privacy laws may differ from those in your country.

Third-party services:

Project Clean Grid uses the following third-party services to operate. Each service has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data.

  • Clerk: Clerk handles Project Clean Grid authentication and login functionality. When you sign up or sign in, Clerk processes your email address and credentials. Clerk is SOC 2 Type II compliant and follows industry-standard security practices. Clerk Privacy Policy

  • WattTime: Project Clean Grid uses the WattTime API to retrieve grid carbon intensity data. No personal information is shared with WattTime. The API requests include only grid region identifiers, not your specific location or account details. WattTime Privacy Policy
